New Thunderbolt cable for Macbook and PC

Intel has taken a major step by doubling the speed of the data transfer for thunderbolt connections. This will increase the transfer data of up to 20 gb / second.

The new technology could allow the Mac to provide support for 4K screens. The resolution of these displays would be 4x better. Acer, Lenovo, Hewlett-Packard, and some other PC’s could take advantage of this because these laptops consist of Thunderbolt ports. Intel revealed that the enhancement will allow to transfer a 4K video to screen and will also provide 4K storage. These compatible devices for storage or display can be connected to one Thunderbolt port.

This enhancement will be the main quality that will put the Thunderbolt above the USB 3.0. The USB 3.0 can only transfer at 5 gb/ second. The disadvantage is that people think of the Thunderbolt as poor producer of PCs, peripherals, and many other devices.

Currently, Thunderbolt is planning different methods to improve speed and they are looking into silicon nanophotonics. Thunderbolt wishes to launch data transfer at the rate of 50 gb/ second before 2015.
